Star Stepper - All American Barbie horse (1991) - Cripple Star

 

All American Barbie Star Stepper appeared, as did Ski Fun Blizzard, in 1991. It was produced only in the USA. Unfortunately, I do not know if it was available in Europe, I am not able to verify it.

This is another horse that came to me by accident. I did not think it would be within my reach. And yet, it appeared in the advertisements, it came to me from Rzeszów, Poland, the day after the Ski Fun set. He had a broken front leg and one stirrup torn off - I note that the latter is quite a typical fault. Fortunately, both of these cavities were included. Horse got a temporary name - Cripple.

He had a very dirty mane, partly tangled and (most likely due to aggressive brushing) a slightly short mane in this part. The rest of the mane and tail were braided into braids.

Cripple was fully equipped. After the first session, I untakced him.

There was a solid layer of dust on the head between the ears. Next I began to gently unravel the braids and remove decorations from them.

Until finally all his equipment was on the cupboard next to him.

And then in a bowl of water and washing powder.

And after the equipment, Cripple himself ended up in the next bowl.

The water after his bath showed that he really needed a good wash. Eventually his hair turned golden yellow

All the fabric parts of his outfit have also come through. As you can see the stars on the material did not survive the test of time and at first I was sure that they would not come back.

I gave up washing gold ribbons because I had experience with the disappearing golden color on Barbie clothes. I rubbed them dry instead.

And the next time-consuming stage - combing braids and tangled hair.

It's time to have a broken leg surgery. It worked the first time, the Cripple was complete again. Repair of the stirrup was also successful.

It also turned out that I have gold paint at home. I decided to try to restore the stars on his clothes. This attempt was also successful. So patiently, star by star - I was restoring them to their golden glow.

For the first time, I decided to put curlers on my horse and curl his hair.

The next day, after removing the curlers, he had beautiful waves.

After combing and braiding the braids, unfortunately the waves practically disappeared.
